#5. Beatrice Hitchman

Beatrice Hitchman’s first novel, Petite Mort, was nominated for the Desmond Elliott Prize, the Polari Prize, the HWA Debut Prize and the Authors’ Club Best First Novel Prize. The book was adapted into a ten-part Woman’s Hour drama on Radio 4. Her second novel, All of You Every Single One, will be published in 2021.

Beatrice was born in London but she’s lived all over the world, including Hong Kong, Paris, and Edinburgh. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Gloucestershire. According to her website, her research focuses on “contemporary queer fiction, the ethics of historical fiction, writing the remote past, and the endings/closure events of novels.”
